(12/11/23) MOGADISHU — Mogadishu police on Sunday apprehended a mother accused of fatally stabbing her daughter and another young relative In a shocking incident that has rattled the Gubadley, Mogadishu. The suspect, identified as Anbiyo Mohamed Ali, allegedly committed the heinous act following a heated dispute Saturday night in the Bur Bishaaro neighbourhood.
The victims, Nimco Saleh and Iqro Dahir were described as the accused’s daughter and sister-in-law, respectively. Reports suggest that the three lived together in a house in Gubadley, where the tragedy unfolded. Local residents, who witnessed the aftermath of the event, indicated that an argument over a personal matter escalated, leading to the fatal attack.
Upon arriving at the scene, security forces conducted an operation that resulted in the capture of Ali, who initially tried to escape. She is currently being held at the C.I.D. for further investigation. The Somali police, determined to bring justice to this tragic case, have assured the public that the suspect will face legal proceedings.
The Banadir police command, in a statement, confirmed the ongoing investigation and the commitment to uphold justice. “The accused woman is being thoroughly investigated and will be brought to justice,” the statement read.
