(20-12-23) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — On Wednesday, five contenders for the upcoming Puntland presidential elections declared the formation of a new political coalition in Nairobi. The coalition, featuring candidates Ahmed Isse Awad (former federal Foreign Minister), Adan Sheikhdoon, Farah Ali Shire, Ali Haji Warsame, and Mohamud Ahmed Mashruuc, was unveiled in a press statement disseminated to the media.
According to the release, the coalition’s primary aim is to guarantee a tranquil electoral process in Puntland for the 2024 elections, which will yield consensually accepted results.
Furthermore, the alliance appealed to fellow candidates and the region’s traditional leaders to engage in the anticipated political transformation in Puntland.
