(02 Apr 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Hassan Moallim, has stated that the current administration has mounted a serious offensive against extremist elements, fast-tracking the successes achieved so far. He noted that the government identified Al-Shabaab as the top enemy and that security forces went after them deep into their hideouts—earning the full confidence of the Somali people.
“The government made the extremists enemy number one, and we pursued them into their hideouts. As a result, the Somali public has placed full trust in us,” the minister said.
The Justice Minister further pointed out that the government launched a three-pronged assault—military, financial, and ideological—against the extremists, leaving them weak and unable to remain in hiding. He emphasised that this is the first administration to wage such a comprehensive campaign against the extremists.
