(26-12-23) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — The Puntland Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee has announced a one-day extension to the application deadline for candidates aspiring to become members of the upcoming regional Parliament.
Chairman of the Committee, Issack Ahmed Hassan declared that this extension adds just one more day to the application period, which lapsed on 25 December. Chairman Hassan explained that the decision for the extension was made in response to the lack of submissions from prospective members coming from Bari and Mudug regions. He emphasised the importance of adhering to the new deadline for these applicants.
Furthermore, Mr Hassan urged the citizens of Puntland to remain vigilant against misinformation and fabricated news circulating about the election. He reassured them to trust in the Committee’s commitment to overseeing the electoral process with integrity and efficiency.
