(27-12-23) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Following the dissolution of Berdale district’s administration in the Bay region two days ago, the South West Ministry of Interior has appointed a new administration for the town to mitigate any governance disruption caused by the absence of the former administration.
The Ministry has named Ali Wardheere Donyow as the new District Commissioner of Berdale. He previously served as the governor of Bay region. In an interview with VOA Somali Service, Mr Donyow expressed his pleasure at being named the new Mayor of Berdale, vowing to swiftly establish an administration capable of fulfilling the mandate and expectations of the local people. The new appointments resolves the persistent and previously unresolved disputes within the former Berdale administration, which ultimately led to its disbandment.
