(16-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Senior commanders of the Somali National Army (SNA), led by Colonel Abdi Salad Ali of the SNA’s 12th Division Infantry, arrived at the frontlines in Mudug on Monday.
Colonel Ali met with commanders from the 27th Division of the national army, stationed in central Somalia. During the discussions, he praised the army’s recent successful military operations in the southern parts of the Mudug region. He emphasised their heightened state of readiness to continue the campaign against the militant group Al-Shabaab. He urged an intensification of operations to eradicate the threats posed by Al-Shabaab to the Somali people and the nation at large.
The visit coincides with an escalated military offensive in the Mudug region against Al-Shabaab. It also comes as President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud undertakes a work visit to Galmudug State to boost the morale of the troops involved in the military operations against the militant group.
