After 32 years, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in London will finally be officially opened tomorrow, 09 February 2023. The Embassy, located at Winchester House on Old Marylebone Road, will provide essential services for the estimated 500,000 Somali diasporas in the United Kingdom.
The opening ceremony will be attended by H.E. Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmedkheyr Abdi, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Kingdom, as well as famous Somali activist and model Sabrina Dhowre and her husband, actor Idris Elba.
This long-awaited event will provide a much-needed resource for the Somali community in the UK and is a significant step towards strengthening the ties between Somalia and the United Kingdom. The Embassy will provide support and assistance to the Somali community in a variety of ways, including consular services, visa processing and cultural events.
This is a proud moment for the Somali community and a reflection of the progress and growth that Somalia has achieved in recent years. The official opening of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in London marks a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the Somali community.
