(07-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Mogadishu Mayor and Governor of the Banadir Region, Madaale, has strongly condemned the bombing that occurred on Tuesday at Bakara Market, sharply criticising the militant group Al-Shabaab for continuing their destructive campaign against the Somali people.
Speaking at the opening of a market in the capital, Yussuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale) denounced the attack, noting that targeting hardworking merchants and their families deviates from Islamic principles. He added that the incident resulted in significant casualties.
The federal government has accused Al-Shabaab of employing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to carry out the bombings at the market on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of more than ten people and injured many others.
