(22-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Military Court on Thursday sentenced three members of the Al-Shabaab militia to 15 years in prison each. The convicted, Abdi Yare Mohamed Aliow, Omar Osman Ibrahim Adan (Jarbey), and Ali Abdullahi Ali Ibrahim (Awil), were involved in various armed conflicts across the country, showcasing the government’s relentless pursuit of peace and security.
Joining the militia in 2020, the individuals underwent rigorous training in the use of weaponry before participating in battles within the Hiran region, where they sustained injuries. Their capture occurred in the Middle Shabelle region, leading to a detailed investigation by the Military Prosecution Office. Despite an initial proposal to dismiss the case, the court, led by Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ali Nur Shuute, opted for a significant prison term, highlighting the judiciary’s firm stance on terrorism and insurgency.
