(17-03-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud travelled to Eritrea on Sunday for a two-day working trip, according to Villa Somalia. President Mohamud’s delegation received a warm welcome from His Excellency President Isaias Afwerki at Asmara International Airport. During his trip, President Mohamud is set to hold bilateral discussions with his Eritrean counterpart to discuss the cooperation between the two nations.
As per Villa Somalia, recruits of the Somali National Army are undergoing military training programmes in Eritrea. Eritrea has trained thousands of Somali soldiers who were repatriated home in recent months to bolster the anti-Al-Shabaab offensive underway in the country.
