(25 March 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed Ambassador Xue Bing, the Chinese Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, at the presidential palace. The meeting served as a conduit for conveying a special message from President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, marking a notable moment in the bilateral relations between China and Somalia.
During the engagement, both parties delved into discussions on ways to further solidify China-Somalia relations, particularly focusing on the key areas of peace and security within the Horn of Africa region.
The visit of Ambassador Xue Bing to Somalia is a clear indication of China’s intent to deepen its diplomatic and strategic ties within the Horn of Africa, a region that has seen its share of challenges but is also ripe with opportunities for development and cooperation.
