The National Quality Assurance Agency on Wednesday seized several containers of damp flour at the Mogadishu port that were intended for sale in the city’s markets, posing a significant risk to public health and the environment.
The agency has increased regular inspections at ports, airports, and border points to ensure the safety of goods entering the country. The agency’s efforts are to protect the public from health hazards that could be contracted from expired and substandard products.
