(06 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, alongside senior officials of the Ministry, expressed deep condolences on the passing of Abdirahman Mohamed Hirabe, the First Counselor at the Somali Embassy in Djibouti. Hirabe passed away on Tuesday in Gävle, Sweden, where he had been residing with his family during his recent illness.
The late Hirabe, who dedicated 43 years to serving the Somali nation, was known for his distinguished diplomatic career. His roles included teaching, school administration, and various key positions within the Somali diplomatic corps, including acting as the Chargé d’Affaires in Djibouti.
Minister Fiqi highlighted Hirabe’s dedication, noting his proficiency in several languages and his commitment to public service. The Minister, along with his colleagues, extended condolences to the deceased family, friends and relatives, and commended his lifelong contributions to his country.
