(07 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Wang Yu, arrived in Mogadishu this morning. The Chinese Ambassador-Designate was warmly received by federal government representatives, including National Protocol Director Mr. Hussein Sheikh Abdulsalam and Director of Asia Mr. Said Mire from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Wang Yu succeeds Ambassador Fei Shengchao, whose term ended in April this year. Ambassador Shengchao served in the country for three years and played a key role in launching and executing several development projects that strengthened the ties between China and Somalia.
China and Somalia have enjoyed strong diplomatic relations for decades, with continuous collaboration and mutual support. The arrival of Ambassador Wang Yu marks a new chapter in the two nations’ long-standing bilateral relations.
