(11 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Mohamed Abdi Hayir Mareye, announced that his ministry has provided fruits and $10,000 in aid to victims injured in the recent Al-Shabaab attack at Lido Beach. During a visit to Erdogan Hospital (formerly Digfer), where some of the injured are receiving medical treatment, the minister handed over the donations to the Emergency Response Committee. The aid was received by Hirsi Ganni, the State Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, along with other committee members.
Minister Mareye highlighted that the donation, comprising fruits and cash, was donated by the ministry officials and personnel as part of their duty to support the victims. He also called on all Somali citizens to unite against the ruthless extremists who are committing atrocities against the Somali people under the pretence of Islam.
