(12 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Committee on Prison Affairs of Somalia’s Federal Parliament met with officials from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and the United Nations Development Corporation (UNDC) to discuss the state of Mogadishu’s central prison. The meeting was chaired by MP Bashir Abdi Mohamed (Americo) and focused on addressing the prison’s challenges and exploring avenues for its development.
Key issues included improving prison conditions and ensuring comprehensive care for inmates. The meeting also discussed ways to enhance services across the country’s correctional system.
