(10 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Hosh, laid the foundation stone for the new headquarters of the Ministry of Interior in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Barre emphasised the importance of modern government buildings that can adequately serve the public and called for the quick evacuation of existing government premises to facilitate the reconstruction process.
On a broader note, the Prime Minister also urged warring clans to embrace peace, underscoring the ongoing national efforts to address both internal and external threats to Somalia’s stability.
In his remarks, Minister Ali Yusuf Hosh noted that after three decades, the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation would regain its headquarters and that rebuilding the institution would enable the government to provide necessary services to the people of Somalia.
