(17 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Speaker of Somalia’s Upper House, Abdi Hashi met UN Deputy Special Representative Raisedon Zenenga and UNSOM’s Head of Political Affairs, Rohan Titus at his office in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
They discussed Somalia’s situation, the responsibilities of the 11th Upper House, the Provisional Constitution review, and election laws. They also explored UN support for legislative tasks ahead.
Speaker Abdi Hashi reaffirmed the Upper House’s commitment to its constitutional role, especially in coordinating federal and state governments and resolving conflicts through dialogue. He called on the UN for continued support in these efforts.
