(18 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The National Emergency Relief Fund Committee has donated $20,000 to one of the families affected by last month’s deadly Al-Shabaab attack at Lido Beach in Mogadishu. The donation was handed to Mohamud Ali Dabole, a father whose three sons were caught in the attack. One son was killed, while the other two, aged 20 and 18, sustained serious injuries. The committee also pledged to arrange medical treatment abroad for the injured sons.
The handover at the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) headquarters was attended by SoDMA Director Mohamud Moallim Abdulle and other committee members. They called on the Somali public to offer support to the grieving father during this difficult time.
The committee has been providing small financial aid to families struggling with medical expenses following the attack, as well as assistance to those who lost loved ones.
