(23 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The National Intelligence and Security Agency’s South West State division has arrested an Al-Shabaab suspect who was caught red-handed while planting an improvised explosive device (IED) in the centre of Barawe, a coastal town, Lower Shabelle region.
The unidentified suspect has been taken into custody for interrogation. South West security forces also safely detonated the IED. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat insecurity caused by Al-Shabaab, including removing planted IEDs and preventing other types of terrorist attacks.
