(25 Sep 2024) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – Somali security forces in the Lower Jubba region have thwarted a potential disaster by successfully defusing a landmine plot in Lagta Aanoole village, west of Bulo Haji, Lower Jubba region.
The operation, conducted with residents, targeted landmines planted by al-Shabaab militants along a vital road. These explosive devices posed a grave danger to civilians and vehicles travelling through the area.
Security officials praised the role of community members in providing crucial information that led to the discovery of the hidden mines. This partnership between the forces and locals was instrumental in preventing a potential tragedy.
