(03 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism has directed all foreign journalists and media representatives operating in Somalia to register with the ministry from 10-21 December 2024.
The ministry stated that the registration is essential for ensuring compliance with Somali media laws, enhancing the safety of journalists, and fostering better coordination and communication with local authorities.
Director General Abdullahi Hayir Duale said the initiative will boost the credibility of media organisations while providing them with official channels for updates and essential information.
