(19 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Somali National Army, in a joint operation with local forces and the Wisil District Police, has successfully intercepted two vehicles carrying fuel and supplies believed to be destined for Al-Shabaab militants.
The operation, which targeted individuals suspected of aiding the extremist group, was carried out in the Wisil district. The Army’s command released a statement declaring, “The Khawarij [Al-Shabaab] are facing immense challenges in Galmudug. The combined efforts of the National Army, residents, and drivers have disrupted their supply routes.”
Counter-terrorism operations continue to intensify across the central regions of Somalia, with government forces and local communities working together to eliminate Al-Shabaab’s presence and restore security to the area.
