(21-Feb-23) Laasanod, Somalia – For the past 16 days, the center of Sool region’s Lasanood has been engulfed in intense fighting between Somaliland administration forces and local SSC forces. The latest update from the war-torn region reveals that SSC forces have captured a tank from the Somaliland administration.
According to eyewitnesses, the current battle is different from the previous ones which were mostly bombing raids. Earlier today, two of the directions from which the war began were defeated, and now the fight continues on one front. Unfortunately, the Somaliland administration is indiscriminately shelling the city with artillery, causing several civilian casualties.
Pictures of the captured tank have been widely circulated on social media, was one of the units that had been shelling the city. The conflict in the Sool region’s Lasanood has resulted in a significant loss of life and property.
