(15-07-23) MOGADISHU – Mr. Daud Awes Jama, the Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, recently welcomed on Saturday Mr. Lionel Laurens, the newly appointed Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to his office. The meeting’s goal was to strengthen the ministry’s and UNDP’s partnership and cooperation.
During their meeting, Minister Daud Awes Jama and Mr. Lionel Laurens discussed several key areas of development. One of the main topics of discussion was the advancement and improvement of Somalia’s media landscape.
They explored strategies to support and nurture the media sector, which plays a vital role in disseminating information, promoting cultural heritage, and boosting the tourism industry.
