(25/07/23) MUGADISHU –Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held a productive meeting with Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank’s Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa In Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The discussion, held at the sidelines of the Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit, centred on bolstering the partnership between Somalia and the World Bank.
Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for its continuous support of Somalia, highlighting the positive impact on its citizens. Ms Kwakwa commended the Federal Government of Somalia’s accomplishments in areas of security, progress towards the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) process, and anti-corruption initiatives. She reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to support Somalia’s development, with a focus on human capital investment to stimulate economic growth.
