(28-08-23) MOGADISHU — The Speaker of the Parliament, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (Madobe), alongside Abdi Hashi, the Speaker of the Upper House, and deputies from both chambers, presided over the 3rd session of the fifth joint meeting on Monday.
Central to this session was the discussion of the guidelines for the amendment of the provisional federal constitution. The Chairman of the Joint Constitutional Review Committee, Mr. Hussein Idow, and the Committee’s Secretary, Senator Said Awke, presented the report on the proposed guidelines for the constitutional reviews. They explained the constitutional amendment procedure to the attending members. Subsequently, representatives from the House voiced their perspectives on key aspects pertinent to national governance.
Concluding the day’s proceedings, the Chairman of the People’s Assembly stated that the discussions would resume the following day, with the focus being on the proposed procedures for the transitional constitution amendment.
