(24-08-23) DHUSAMAREB – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qorqor on Wednesday engaged with the Somali National Women’s Association in Dhusamareb. The focus was on the association’s role in supporting the armed forces’ ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
President Mohamud praised the women for “their pivotal role” in supporting the military and raising public awareness in the fight against the Khawarij extremists. He urged them to “double their efforts,” particularly in regions where terrorists are still active.
Representatives from the Women’s Association reciprocated by offering strategic advice and reaffirming their commitment to stand by the armed forces.
Notable attendees included the Deputy Minister of Information, the Minister of State for Health, and the Minister of Women of Galmudug.
The meeting highlights the essential contribution of women in Somalia’s efforts to eradicate extremism and promote national unity.
