(09-09-23) MOGADISHU — Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Saturday, met with Somali National Army officers in Doha, Qatar, where they are undergoing training, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, Barre conveyed the hopes of the Somali people that these officers would play key roles in current operations aimed at liberating areas of the country. The prime minister expressed deep gratitude to the Qatari government for its continued support, particularly in the training and production of high-quality military officers.
Barre, who is on a diplomatic visit to Qatar, will also hold talks with the country’s top leadership as he seeks to strengthen ties and discuss further avenues of support, notably in the sectors of security and governance.
The Somali Prime Minister’s engagement with the army officers sets the stage for his upcoming talks with Qatari leaders, reinforcing the military aspect of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
