(18-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — A gunman reportedly killed four people and injured scores of others in Galdogob town in the north-central Mudug region of Somalia on Thursday.
Armed with an AK-47 rifle, the lone gunman attacked civilians who were enjoying themselves at a local restaurant, resulting in death and injuries.
Further reports indicated that those who lost their lives in the heinous attack included a local customs official who works in Galdogob town.
Local police responded swiftly gunning down the attacker whose motive has not yet been established. Local authorities have not spoken about the incident which has raised security concerns for residents.
Galdogob is a border town wholly administered by the semi-autonomous Puntland State of Somalia and serves as the capital of the Galdogob District within the Mudug region.
