(02-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Today, the Military Court convicted Al-Shabaab member Ibrahim Osman Moallin Abikar, sentencing him to life imprisonment. Ibrahim was apprehended by the National Intelligence and Security Agency on 22 July 2023, during an operation in Baidoa, the administrative capital of South West State.
Tasked with the transportation of explosives and other materials for the militant group, the convict utilised a Fekon motorcycle for his operations. Additionally, he faced allegations of planting an explosion in a camp in Baidoa alongside his accomplice, Dahir, who is currently evading capture. Their actions led to the deaths of three people and injuries to six others.
Following several deliberations, the court reached a decision today in the case against Ibrahim, sentencing him to life in prison.
