(24-01-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Chairman of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr Mohamud Moallin Abdulle, presided over a brief ceremony at the Port of Mogadishu today, where he formally accepted a consignment of humanitarian aid from the Russian government. The cargo, intended to assist Somali citizens impacted by severe droughts and the recent El Niño-induced floods, comprises a significant delivery of 25,000 metric tons of wheat.
The shipment marks the second instalment of aid from Russia to Somalia, reinforcing the ongoing relief efforts in the region.
Mr Abdulle, in his capacity as Chairman of SoDMA, extended his appreciation for the generous contribution, assuring that the distribution of the aid would reach those in need with the same efficiency and care as was executed with the preceding allotment.
