(05-02-24) BAIDOA (Halqabsi News) — Southwest President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen hosted Magnus Bjarnason, the new head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) regional office in Baidoa, along with his team, at the Presidential Palace on Monday.
The discussions between President Laftagareen and Dr Bjarnason focused on enhancing the partnership between the South West State administration and UNSOM. They explored avenues for bolstering developmental initiatives, improving security measures, advancing political dialogues, and addressing humanitarian concerns.
The meeting also saw the participation of the Acting Speaker of Southwest Regional Assembly and the First Deputy Speaker, Mr. Mohamed Nur Mohamed Moallin, alongside Senior Advisor Abdikadir Yaanyurow.
