(31 March 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — A civil conflict near the city of Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug state, on Sunday, resulted in at least one civilian death and multiple injuries, according to local sources. The skirmish in the village of Qurac Mudul observes a resurgence of tribal hostilities that have historically plagued the region.
The recent clash is reportedly rooted in a dispute over the territorial control of Las-haado, an area near Dhusmareb. Competing tribal militias have repeatedly clashed over the ownership of this locale, raising fears of an escalation in violence among the locals.
