The key legislation marks a significant leap forward in the fight for the rights and welfare of girls and women in the region.
President Qoorqoor’s decisive action places Galmudug at the forefront of human rights advancement in Somalia, signalling a firm commitment to abolishing practices that harm women and impede their well-being. The total ban on FGM reflects a growing acknowledgement of the critical need to protect the health and rights of girls and women.
