Federal Minister of Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail ‘Fartaag’, opened a validation meeting to approve the five-year strategic plan of Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency. The meeting, held in Mogadishu, is to review and finalise the agency’s plan, ensuring it aligns with national priorities and goals.
Over the course of two days, participants examined the strategic plan, focusing on key areas such as enhancing border security, improving immigration services, and strengthening citizenship processes. The plan also emphasises the importance of collaboration with international partners to address transnational challenges.
During the meeting, stakeholders praised the agency for its efforts in developing a comprehensive and forward-thinking strategic plan. They highlighted the plan’s potential to significantly enhance Somalia’s immigration and citizenship systems, promoting national security and socio-economic development.
The validation meeting concluded with the approval of the strategic plan, marking a significant step forward for Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency in its mission to modernize and improve its services.
