(26-06-24) MUSCAT (Halqabsi News) – The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Oman celebrated 26 June today, marking the 64th anniversary of the Somali flag being raised over free Somali territory. The embassy welcomed the new Somali Ambassador to Oman, Bashir Hassan Haji, who officially took over his duties. Ambassador Bashir first toured the offices and various sections of the embassy, receiving a briefing on the embassy’s operations and services provided to the nation and the Somali community.
The ambassador thanked the diplomats and staff for their warm welcome and noted that this important national day, coinciding with his first day on the job, would mark a period of transformation and enhancement for the embassy’s operations and its services to the nation and the Somali community in Oman.
“We are all fortunate to serve our nation and our Somali community here in Oman. Today marks a day that symbolises our commitment to improving and doubling the efforts at the embassy,” said Ambassador Bashiir in his address to the diplomats and staff. He also congratulated the diplomats, the Somali community in Oman, and the Somali people on the occasion of 26 June. The Ambassador pledged to strengthen the cooperation between Somalia and Oman and to facilitate the services provided by the Somali Embassy in Oman to Somali citizens.
