(28 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held an open forum on Wednesday, with Ministry staff to outline the institution’s strategic vision. The meeting focused on implementing foreign and domestic policies, with staff contributing ideas on enhancing the Ministry’s effectiveness.
Minister Fiqi announced that a restructuring process, led by two committees, has begun to align the Ministry’s policies with the national vision and serve the interests of the Somali people. The process will prioritise the experience and dedication of the Ministry’s workforce to ensure efficient operations.
Addressing staff concerns, the Minister emphasised the importance of leadership and accountability during this critical time for Somalia. He stressed that future promotions, including for diplomats, will be based on a transparent, merit-based system, recognizing individual and collective contributions to the Ministry’s mission.
