(16 Aug 2024) GALKAYO (Halqabsi News) – Officials from Puntland’s security forces and the Mudug regional administration convened today to address the escalating security concerns in the region and strategize on collaborative efforts to maintain peace and order.
The meeting resulted in several security-related decisions, including the disarmament of individuals carrying weapons within Galkayo city and the launch of comprehensive anti-security operations across all districts of Mudug region under Puntland’s jurisdiction.
The Puntland police commander stated that these operations would commence tonight and urged residents to cooperate fully with the security forces.
The governor of Mudug region in Puntland emphasized the importance of compliance with the disarmament initiative, warning that those who resist will face strict legal action.
This meeting follows a recent surge in security breaches within Galkayo City, and it is anticipated that these joint operations will significantly improve the security situation in the region.
