(01 Sep 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Somali National Army (SNA) and local liberation forces have conducted successful operations against Al-Shabaab in the Halgan district of Hiran region. The army destroyed positions where Al-Shabaab had been harassing the local population.
According to army officials, they received intelligence about Al-Shabaab members infiltrating areas under Halgan district. The militants fled upon learning of the approaching army, but the army is now in control of the area.
The officials stated that operations to eliminate the terrorists will continue as they are cleared from the western areas of Hiran region.
These recent operations in Hiran region follow a series of successful operations against Al-Shabaab by the SNA and liberation forces in various areas.
