(12 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) announced it has killed more than 23 members of the Al-Shabaab militant group in an operation carried out in the Dhararweyn area, near the town of Gal’ad in Galgadud region.
The operation, described as extensive, also destroyed three vehicles used by the group, including a Toyota pickup reportedly carrying weapons and ammunition.
NISA forces are pursuing additional members of the group who were wounded and fled the scene. The agency reported that the fighters are attempting to escape towards nearby areas around Owsweyne. NISA has recently increased targeted operations against Al-Shabaab, resulting in significant casualties against the group.
