(24 Feb 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Members of the Somali community in Minnesota, particularly those from Puntland, have donated $250,000 to support Puntland’s security forces in their fight against ISIS. The contribution is aimed at strengthening ongoing military efforts and assisting affected communities in the Bari region.
Community leaders emphasised the importance of supporting Puntland’s security forces, saying that Puntland’s forces had taken on the crucial battle with dedication. The community members affirmed their continued support for the security forces in their bid to root out ISIS militants from the region.
Puntland’s military campaign, known as Operation Hillaac, has made significant progress in pushing back ISIS militants, particularly in Al-Miskat Mountains. The Minnesota Somali community’s financial contribution aims to bolster these efforts, providing essential resources for security forces and humanitarian assistance for local communities.
