(05 June 2025) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) – Puntland Defence Forces conducted a successful operation against ISIS remnants on Wednesday, killing two militants and seizing control of their hideout at the Dacarre well, located in Shakaalooyin village near the Baalade area of Bari region.
The media office of Operation Calmiskaad issued a statement confirming that Puntland troops overran the well, which had been utilised by the fleeing ISIS fighters as a concealed refuge.
“The operation led to the death of two terrorist fugitives,” the statement announced. “The well at Dacarre, in Shakaalooyin, is now under full control of our forces.”
During the engagement, troops recovered a quantity of weapons, motors, and other military equipment. According to the statement, some of these items “were set ablaze by the terrorists before fleeing” their captured position.
This latest operation is a component of Puntland’s sustained campaign, Operation Calmiskaad, which is focused on dismantling extremist cells operating within the mountainous and remote terrains of the Bari region.
