(17 Feb 2025) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Moallim, has attended the opening ceremony of a youth football tournament to promote peace and integration in the Banadir region.
The Peace Awareness and Youth Integration Tournament, held at Mogadishu’s Municipio Football Stadium, brings together young people to encourage teamwork and support peacebuilding efforts.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Education, Banadir regional officials, and national sports leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Moallim highlighted the role of sport in fostering peace and youth development. “Sports play a vital role in strengthening peace and community integration. Our ministry is dedicated to supporting all efforts that promote justice and stability in our society,” he said.
The government says it is committed to supporting initiatives that promote unity and justice through sport.
