(28-06-23) GALKAYO — The South District Mayor of Galkayo, Abdirahman Sheikh Hassan Jimale, inaugurated a project aimed at augmenting children’s education in the city on Tuesday.
This initiative, designed to foster the cognitive development of children in line with contemporary pedagogy and technology, was initiated in Galkayo, Galmudug side of the city. In what marks a milestone in Somali educational endeavours, the project promises to provide a robust platform for the cognitive and technological development of Somali children.
Ms Safiyo Yusuf, the project head, noted the widespread benefits the initiative will bring to Somali children. “This is an essential step forward in ensuring our children have the right tools to thrive in the modern world,” she commented during the inauguration ceremony.
The Coordinator of Galmudug Ministry of Endowment in Galkayo, Maallin Qasim, expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders who have tirelessly worked to bring this project to fruition. “The collective effort to enhance the education of our children is heartening,” Qasim remarked. “I am grateful to everyone who worked so diligently to make this project a reality.”
Applauding the project, Mayor Abdirahman Sheikh Hassan expressed joy over Galkayo being the inaugural location for the nationwide project. “It’s a great honour that Galkayo has been chosen as the pilot city for this crucial educational project. It shows confidence in our city’s potential, and I am confident that this initiative will pave the way for a brighter future for our children,” Hassan stated.
