(27/07/23) MOGADISHU -Under the leadership of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Justice and Constitution, Hassan Moalim Mohamud Sheikh Ali, the Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) met for their weekly meeting. The primary focus of the meeting was to engage in discussions regarding the nation’s security situation and to give approval to several legislative proposals.
On the security front, the Council discussed the achievements of the Somali National Army (SNA) in its ongoing battle against the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. The Council was briefed on the successes of the SNA in countering Al-Shabaab’s activities, and it expressed deep concern about the recent attack on an SNA training camp in Mogadishu. They also condemned the attack and conveyed its condolences to the families of the brave soldiers who lost their lives.
In addition to security matters, the Council of Ministers approved several key bills, including the Somali Disability Rights Bill, the Agricultural Inspection and Legalisation Service Agency Bill, and the Agricultural Chemicals Control Bill.
These bills aim to improve various aspects of Somali society, such as inclusivity for the disabled community, agricultural standards, and the use of agricultural chemicals.
