(23-08-23) MOGADISHU –The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, on Wednesday hosted the Ambassador of the Government of Qatar, Abdalla Binu Salim Al-Nu’aimi, in his Mogadishu office to discuss bolstering ties between the two nations.
The discussions centred on augmenting the relationship and cooperation between the two brotherly nations. Prime Minister Hamza extended his gratitude to the Qatari government for their unwavering support towards Somalia, notably in the domains of security, the advancement of basic services, and provision of aid.
Ambassador Abdalla reciprocated the sentiments, stating Qatar’s commitment to continuous backing. He underscored that they stand firmly with both the Somali government and its people. “We will persist in supporting the various factions as we have always stood by the government and the Somali people,” the Ambassador said.
In a related development, it has been announced that Prime Minister Hamza is slated to embark on an official visit to Qatar this coming September. This visit is anticipated to further cement the collaborative efforts and deep-rooted relationship between the two countries.
