(12-09-23) MOGADISHU — High-ranking government and Galmudug State officials visited troops at the frontline of the offensive against Al-Shabaab on Tuesday, reinforcing that the entire nation stands in unity against terrorism.
Deputy Minister of Information, Abdirahman Yusuf Omar Al-Adala, commended the armed forces for their ongoing efforts, declaring that their actions are supported by “all people, officials, businessmen, and politicians from across Somalia.” Al-Adala implored the troops to remain steadfast and continue their mission until the full eradication of Al-Shabaab from Somali soil is confirmed.
The visit came amidst a major operational push in Galmudug. Al-Adala disclosed that over the last 48 hours, security forces conducted 17 separate operations in Galmudug State, resulting in the death of more than 120 militants, including Al-Shabaab leaders.
MP Abdisabir Nur Shuriye at the frontline, issued a call for the army and local liberation forces to aid in the safe return of displaced civilians. These individuals had been forced to vacate their homes and communities due to the incursions and threats posed by Al-Shabaab.
