(12-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Somalia’s Defence Minister, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, engaged in a phone conversation with the State Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), extending his heartfelt condolences to the government, people, and military of the UAE following the tragic deaths of Emirati officers in a terrorist attack at the General Gordon military training camp in Mogadishu.
Minister Jaamac praised the fallen officers as valiant heroes, emblematic of the UAE’s important role in the global fight against terrorism and the reconstruction of Somalia’s security and stability. He sent his condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and wished a quick recovery for the wounded.
Furthermore, Minister Nur disclosed that investigations have begun to unravel the specifics of the incident, affirming that such acts of terrorism will not detract from the enduring strategic alliance and collaborative efforts between the two nations.
