(12 Aug 2024) GALKAYO (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni on Monday launched a vaccination campaign in Galkayo, targeting children under the age of 5 who have not been previously vaccinated or have incomplete vaccinations. President Deni urged all regional and district officials to collaborate with the teams carrying out the campaign and to raise awareness about the importance of vaccination to prevent diseases. He encouraged the people of Puntland to ensure their children receive the necessary vaccinations.
The campaign, which aims to vaccinate 100,000 children, will be conducted across 177 centres for 7 days, with 20 teams of doctors and healthcare workers executing the drive. The launch ceremony was attended by members of the House of Representatives and the Cabinet, including officials from the Ministry of Health, local and regional health authorities, and partner organizations working with the Ministry on health initiatives.
